How To Vote:

  1. Be qualified to vote.
  2. Be registered to vote.
  3. Know your Ward – see map.
  4. Learn your candidates.
  5. Vote via phone or internet between October 13 & 26, 2026. Don’t forget! 

1) To be qualified to vote you must:

  • 18 years of age or older;
  • A Canadian Citizen;
  • A resident of the Township of Centre Wellington, or an owner or tenant of land in the Township or the spouse of an owner or tenant; and
  • Is not prohibited from voting under the Municipal Act or any other legislation.

2) To register to vote:

Check if you are on the Voter’s List!
If not, register! Don’t miss your chance.

If On or Before August 12th, use this websiteRegisterToVoteON.ca

If After August 12th,  you must go in person to visit the Municipal Office (1 Macdonald Sq, Elora ON N0B 1S0) between Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.

In Advance of Election Day
  • October 17 from 11:00am – 1:00pm at the St. John’s United Church in Belwood
  • October 19 & 21 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at the Victoria Park Senior’s Centre in Fergus
  • October 19 – 21 from 8:30am – 4:30pm at the Municipal Office in Elora
  • October 22 & 23 from 8:30am – 7:30pm at both the CW Sportsplex in Fergus and Municipal Office in Elora
  • October 24 & 25 from 10:30am – 2:30pm at both the CW Sportsplex in Fergus and Municipal Office in Elora
 
Election Day
  • October 26 from 9:00am – 8:00pm at both the CW Sportsplex in Fergus and Municipal Office in Elora

The Township of Centre Wellington will use Internet and Telephone Voting ONLY for the 2026 Municipal Election.

The Province has prepared the 2026 Voters’ Guide to provide information to voter for the 2026 municipal council and school board elections. It provides general information about the rules contained in the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 and other legislation and regulations. Voters’ may also review the Township of Centre Wellington’s 2026 Election Policies and Procedures.
