“Since joining C.W. Council in 2022, Councillor Wilton has made an effort to connect with her Ward 5 residents. She regularly sends notifications alerting of Council matters and meetings. A small group of us, as concerned residents, lobbied to change a proposed bypass route which would have interfered with the Pierpoint Fly Fishing Nature Reserve and our well established residential neighbourhood. Councillor Wilton not only heard our concerns, but presented a motion, which was passed by Council, to acknowledge the route as undesirable. She also helped us get recognition for the Reserve as a Heritage Site. She has always been open to discussing my concerns about Township matters and on a number of occasions has facilitated meetings with the Mayor and Township staff. Councillors should consider the voices of residents, not only Township staff recommendations, when they vote on issues. I think Councillor Wilton has been able to do that.”
“We are so fortunate to have Bronwynne on our neighbourhood team. She’s there when you need her for local concerns while doing what’s best for the Township! “
“Bronwynne Wilton is a community leader that Centre Wellington needs for Council. Bronwynne has a deep passion for strengthening community through collaboration, is forward-thinking and has a natural ability to build partnerships. These are skills that our Council requires as we navigate the next four years. As a Councillor, she has demonstrated a thoughtful approach, listens with empathy and openness, builds support and provides active leadership around the Council table and at the provincial level. Throughout her career, community involvement, and at Council, this is the leadership style she has embodied.
As a Centre Wellington farmer for over 40 years, I appreciate Bronwynne’s knowledge of agriculture and the fine balance between our rural community and our rapidly growing urban community.”
“I am writing to enthusiastically endorse Bronwynne Wilton’s candidacy in Centre Wellington’s upcoming Municipal election. I got to know Bronwynne when we shared an office while she was completing her PhD and I was working on my M.Sc. in the Department of Land Resource Science at U of G. Our shared interest in rural land use issues and farmland preservation laid the foundation for our decades-long personal and professional relationship. I was thrilled to learn of Bronwynne’s willingness to serve on Township Council. For as long as I’ve known her, Bronwynne’s been dedicated to making Centre Wellington a wonderful place to live. Her commitment to the issues I also care about – healthy and just food and agriculture, mental health and wellness, rural land use and infrastructure, sustainability, healthy lifestyles through sport and art, and good, transparent governance – make me confident that she will make enormously positive contributions to local government. With a scientific, evidence-based approach to decision-making and steadfast professionalism, I also have no doubt that she has what it takes to endure the challenges of the job.”
“Bronwynne was raised right here in Centre Wellington and has seen it evolve and grow. She brings years of experience and a wealth of knowledge in environmental sustainability, planning, rural development, agricultural issues, and community engagement. She can work with diverse groups of stakeholders to produce creative and effective solutions. Bronwynne cares deeply about our community and is very engaged. She will be a breath of fresh air on our township council!”
“I have known Bronwynne for many years, first as a student working in a local charitable organization. Bronwynne has always shown a passion for her community, for a vibrant rural economy and always striving to make them better. She was an early Board member at Centre Wellington Community Foundation where she brought innovative ideas from her work in rural development such as our first granting program (the “Mini Grant” program) to help us achieve maximum impact and support many grassroots organizations, many previously ‘under the radar’. I know that Bronwynne will bring her unique skills and energy to our local community as Councillor for Ward 5.”
“I have had the pleasure to know Bronwynne in varying capacities and projects through her consulting business and mutual organizations. I have always found her very knowledgeable, professional, thoughtful, with strong communication skills and integrity. Bronwynne brings extensive rural planning experience and a much needed rural and agricultural planning and land needs perspective to the Centre Wellington’s Council table. Bronwynne has the exceptional ability to build relationships, tease out issues, move a group forward to consensus, and develop a plan that balances the project’s needs with the organizations defining principals all with her trademark calm demeanor and smile. I personally endorse Bronwynne as the Candidate for Centre Wellington – Ward 5 in the upcoming Municipal election.”
