Meet Bronwynne – Your Ontario Green Party Candidate

Hello! I’m Dr. Bronwynne Wilton, and I’m excited to be your Ontario Green Party candidate. Since 2022, I’ve been proud to serve as a Councillor for the Township of Centre Wellington, representing Ward 5. Now, I’m ready to bring my passion for sustainability, agriculture, and strong rural communities to Queen’s Park.

Centre Wellington is my home.

I’m a lifelong resident of Centre Wellington and have lived in several parts of our amazing township: I grew up in Aboyne, started my family in Salem and Elora, spent time on a small farm in Belwood, and now call Fergus home. My husband, Pierre Chauvin, and I have raised our three children here, volunteering for many local sports and community initiatives over the years.

Rooted in Agriculture and Community

I own and operate a small business in Fergus—Wilton Consulting Group—specializing in research, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation in the Canadian agriculture and agri-food sector. Through my work, I collaborate with everyone from agricultural societies to municipal, provincial, and federal governments, focusing on sustainability, innovation, and policy in the agri-food system.

I’ve always believed in giving back to my community. I’ve been involved in local grassroots efforts—like Green Lanes—and served on the board of the Centre Wellington Community Foundation. I was also a member of Greenlands, which explored integrating green infrastructure into our community’s planning and development decisions.

Experience and Education

I hold three degrees from the University of Guelph:

  • Bachelor of Science in Agriculture
  • Master of Science in Rural Planning/Landscape Architecture
  • PhD in Rural Studies

Throughout my academic and professional journey, I’ve focused on sustainable agriculture, rural community development, and helping communities thrive. As a business owner, I know the importance of balancing a budget, supporting employees, and building respectful, productive partnerships.

A Vision for a Greener Ontario

As your Green Party candidate, I’m committed to:

  • Championing sustainable agriculture that protects our environment and supports local farmers
  • Strengthening rural communities by investing in infrastructure, healthcare, and education
  • Encouraging green innovation and new economic opportunities
  • Promoting collaborative, forward-thinking leadership that respects diverse perspectives and seeks common ground

I’m running to ensure the voice of Wellington-Halton Hills—and rural communities across Ontario—is heard loud and clear at Queen’s Park. Together, we can build a vibrant, sustainable future for everyone.

I invite you to join me on this journey. Let’s work together for a greener, more prosperous Ontario.
